God’s Favorite Beaches

Big beaches, small beaches, short beaches, tall beaches
Beaches with white sand or no sand at all
Red beaches, brown beaches, real close to town beaches
Beaches where there is just no one at all

Beaches for swimming, beaches for walks
Beaches for sunbathing, beaches for talks
Beaches for building a castle in sand
Beaches for watching parades with a band

Beaches for daydreaming, beaches for snoozes
Beaches for boarding big overnight cruises
Beaches for picnics, beaches for games
Beaches for wading the surf in the rain

Beaches to contemplate life at its best
Beaches to unwind, kick back and rest
Beaches for riding, biking or running
Beaches for going and beaches for coming

Beaches for singing and beaches for yelling
Beaches for gathering shells for the selling
Beaches for reading, beaches for study
Beaches with puddles that make your feet muddy

Beaches for writing in sand like our Lord
Beaches for studying His every Word
Beaches for watching, listening, and prayer

I can "see" the pictures that go with this as a children's book. It evokes warm memories. I could read it to my grandchildren again and again!

I agree, a child could sure learn to read the word "beaches" to perfection, as well as learn alot about them.

BEACHES....A fantastic read and teaching poem for young children written in an easy-to-comprehend tone.... Would not look out of place in a Children's colour picture book. A great entry that deserves a prize!!!

Exactly, Shari! Dr. Seuss for sure! I read this to my hubby and we both had a good laugh! Cute idea. I would never have thought of doing this. :-)
