Then came an oppressive shadow over this divine work of beauty. One of the head angels became self-willed and instigated an insurrection against the divine Creator. As a result creation became marred and disheveled.
As human beings, created by God, you and I are a miniature world, a microcosm of the original creation. We are a world of our own. But under the influence of a fallen angel, and like all of God’s creations, we too became “damaged goods.” When sin came into our lives, we began to live a life of emptiness and confusion.
Salvation is a salvage work. It starts with our birth into the kingdom of heaven. Redemption is a restoration work. We are introduced to Jesus as our Savior and Lord. Now we are in Christ and we are no longer “damaged goods.” The defective has now been restored to its original pristine newness. Our Creator intervened to give us beauty for ashes.
Our spiritual walk represents a game, we all know as charades. We are given one syllable and one clue at a time, as if they were insights that illuminate within the mind and a picture begins to forms.
The Father reveals to every one of us, each step, each direction, and each revelation, giving us different clues to the desires He has for us. Line upon line, and precept upon precept, He changes us, as we walk down a path that reveals glimpses of His Son, like an open window letting in raises of sunlight. Exposing the grand plan, the Father has for each of us. Before you know it, we become more like Him.
As with the game of charades, the answers aren’t always apparent and clear. More clues and signs are sometimes needed before a picture begins to form. Sometimes each clue brings about excitement, fun and laughter. We begin to feel like we are on roll and life becomes an adventure.
Other times, as the Father molds us more into His image, it’s as if the clues become sharp, as a two-edged sword, penetrating even to the dividing of soul and spirit. They end up frustrating us and we feel like saying “phooey” and being tempted to give up! However, that’s not the time to quit the game and throw in the towel. Because the answer may be just around the corner… As with charades, it may be that one extra syllable, or clue God is going to give us that will lead us to victory!
For we can be certain; if we give up too soon, we can easily miss the “big” picture God wants to reveal to us. For the Bible says in II Corinthians 13:12-13; “that we see through a glass darkly, but then, face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” All these syllables and signs are just God’s way of peeling away a few more layers of our imperfections; to give us a few more glimpses of our eternal beauty in Him and the reward that He has waiting for us. If we are patient, it will be worth the wait. For it will be at that time, that God has made everything beautiful again.
However… Why wait until we get to our eternal home, to show forth His beauty amongst His creation? Why not start right now; at this very moment; to think beauty…talk beauty…walk beauty…believe beauty…behave beauty…and enjoy beauty! Because of whose we are… We are beautiful!
