Is the finest in the land;
People call it “The Coathanger;”
When you see it, you’ll understand.
It took years of careful planning,
Skillful knowledge, months of design
To get it past the drafting stage,
Before it reached construction time.
The widest steel-arched bridge on earth,
More than a kilometer in length,
With fifty thousand tones of steel
Creates a span of mighty strength.
Its four massive granite pylons
Are mainly there for eye appeal,
Serve very little purpose
In bearing up the weighty steel.
Now, cars and buses, bikes and trains
Traverse its monstrous deck each day,
A never ending speeding rush
Above our major waterway.
On this fine Sydney Summer’s eve,
I sit dwarfed by its massive span:
What a feat of engineering!!
What an accomplishment by man!!
As I reflect in silent wonder,
My deepest thoughts are drawn to God,
When He made a path through water;
All He used was a simple rod!!
Yes! The Bridge is something special;
It shows the ability of man;
But at best, it’s just a pointer
To Him, Who holds all things in His Hand!!

Well written.
The video was good, and thanks to your poem, I now know about a place I had never before heard of.
Thanks for teaching me more about the world.
May God bless and keep you writing such good things.
Sincerely,
Dan Blankenship
