The sky in different hues of blue, the small creek that my wander aimlessly through my picture or the delicate flowers that line the banks, all have to be painted like the picture I see. So mixing my oils to resemble the colors, I begin to paint.
I am doing nothing more than what has already been created, and am just making a copy of what the Great Creator has already done. The trees, water, flowers, and sky are the garden of the Creator, and with my eyes and oils I can only duplicate. I cannot erase the Creators picture, because if I did I would have nothing to draw from. My imagination cannot copy what I have erased, so therefore I could not paint the colors that so vividly stand out.
This concentration is something we also do when visiting a famous art gallery. We read the biography of the painter, who he is, and what he painted. This is much like what I do, when I attempt to copy the awesome works of God.
