BACK.” Uncle Buck would say disguising his voice and sucking in his gut impersonating Arnold Schwarzenegger. Uncle Buck took to me to church every Sunday. I have a relationship with God because of Uncle Buck.
“I’m sorry for your loss.” Becky whispered with streams of tears running down her face. “Thank you.” The only words I could think of. I can see the open casket now, the viewing line is very long, Uncle Buck was loved much. With every forward movement I can feel my heart beat, beating faster and harder. I can feel my emotions building up, only a matter of time and they would run over into tears like all of the other grievers.
I notice my thoughts shifting from Uncle Buck to a flock of beautiful Angels. The great majestic beings are in route to earth at a high rate of speed. I realize my thoughts are not my own, but inspired by God. A picture of Uncle Buck on his knees praying flashes before my eyes, then back to the Angels. Back and forth the scenes run through my mind like ping pong balls. The Angels finally arrive to earth and with out hesitation prevent a major car accident from happening. I recognize the driver, it’s me. I suddenly remember the incident and thank God for his protection.
I’m now face to face with my Uncle Buck. His smile still lights up the room and his face shines forth the Glory of God. “Thank you for your prayers”, I whisper. Instead of pain I’m overwhelmed with joy knowing my Uncle Buck is in heaven, instead of crying I chuckle imagining Uncle Buck teaching Jesus the Rock n Roll shuffle.
