Topic: Illustrate the meaning of "A Man is Known by the Company He Keeps" (without using the actual phrase). (01/31/08)
Growing up I always felt like I needed to surround myself with individuals who were known as the "cool" group and suffice to say this carried over into my adult years, until recently.
For some reason I felt I had to be around and associate with persons who from my false perspective had it all; money,cars, dates, the best jobs, clothes, etc.(you get the picture).
But, thanks to the glory of GOD I made the decision to surrender my life as whole unto HIM. It was the making of this decision that I realized that what I thought was real was misleading and detrimental to my well being.
I began to realize that those same individuals meant me no true good, I was just useful good. Meaning I was good for their use and nothing else. But JESUS, HE is not about self benefit, when HE uses you it is for the good of another.
With JESUS, it is not about HIM benefiting from me, it is about me benefiting from HIM.
Being around JESUS brings joy, patience, endurance, enlightenment and assurance. It allows one to see and realize as well as understand that the places you go and the people you surround yourself with impact your live,either for the good or the bad. You make the choice.
Surrounding yourself in the presence of the MOST HIGH builds positive inner and outer strength. It prepares you for the battle that will inevidently come. It prepares you for Kingdom building and doing the business of the LORD.
Being in the right company begins with what you allow your eyes to see and your ears to hear and the activities you partake of. That means staying rooted in the reading of GOD's word, hearing the chosen anointed one sermonize GOD's message and being apart of the activities of HIS ministries.
Ask yourself this question:
Who are You Around, Who Is He and What Is He to You?

Very nice devotional. Good job reminding us to read The Book! You have some formatting problems. Be sure to preview your entry several times and correct it as needed. Also, please make sure you ask someone to proofread your work. It's so hard to catch our own mistakes. Keep on writing for God's glory!

Nice devotional piece - especially liked the last line. I suggest you have a challenge buddy or someone read your entries. You have some problems with grammar and punctuation, and I think it would be helpful if you brushed up on the rules. You have a lot of potential, and I encourage you to keep writing!
