The main responsibility that every child of God has is to stand as a good witness for Christ. To proclaim the good news, that Christ died for our sins, and is the only way to be reconciled to God is a responsibility that no saved soul can ignore. Men and Women of God, from the time of Acts have been carrying out this responsibility, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

We have heard of wonderful testimonies of lives changed, and people transformed from those who have been powerful witnesses for Christ.

For we are called to be ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor 5:20, NIV) and we - the redeemed lot, are given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18, 19 NIV) – a great commission! To stand as a good witness for Christ is no ordinary task. For sharing the Gospel, is not by spoken words alone, but also by the life we lead. If our speech and life are not in line with one another, then we may not be good witnesses for Christ. But instead turn out to be bad witnesses, because of which people become repulsive of Christ. That’s why Paul warned Timothy to pay a close attention to his life and doctrine (1 Tim 4:16) and asked him to persevere in it, so that it might save him and his hearers. St.Francis once said “preach the gospel if necessary use words”. Much emphasis has to be laid on the purity of life we live. If Christ lives in us, then our beings should have the reflection of the master, only then can we be a good witness for Him. Otherwise we may produce negative repercussions on unsaved souls.

Evangelism is not all about dragging people to Christ through well planned strategies and convincing methodologies, but the overflowing joy of salvation and blessedness of life that a believer shares to the one who does not have it. To be a wrong witness and failing to be a witness for Christ, both is a sign of negligence of Christ in one’s life. So let us be watchful as to how we are and how we live so that the one who called us need not be ashamed of us on His Coming (or we going to Him) and be found faithful by Him who gave Himself for us

This is a superb challenge for us as Christians.

My favorite part is as follows:

Right on topic! A friend strong in proofreading for the small stuff would take this from excellent to perfect!
