Twinkle Starr prided herself on being one of the brightest stars around in the whole universe. She was always so full of happiness and joy, that her star always out shown all of the other stars. Her friends, “The Shinning Stars,” had come to expect the brilliance of light that seemed to emanate from Twinkle Starr. Her light enhanced the brightness of their light, and that caused this particular group of stars to attract a lot of attention.
Twinkle Starr had recently gone away for a while and had not been in the presence of the Shinning Stars for a few weeks. When she returned amongst them, they noticed that her star had lost some of its brilliance. That is why, at this moment, the Shinning Stars were all gathered together as one around their friend Twinkle Starr. The Shinning Stars had decided to join together at this time to show their respect and concern towards their friend Twinkle Starr. Everyone knew that Twinkle Starr’s light wasn’t shining as bright as it used to. In fact, her light had grown dim and was very weak. It could barely be seen in the night sky.
Her friends, the Shinning Stars, thought this was an awful thing to have happened to Twinkle Starr. The Shining Stars hung their faces downward as a sign of respect to comfort Twinkle Starr. This made their stars dim too and they felt as one at that moment with their friend.
Twinkle Starr kept her own counsel and was very quiet. She didn’t utter a word about the loss of glow of her light. If her light ceased to shine as bright as it once did, what did that say about the other stars light? Would their light cease to shine as bright too? She wondered about this.
As the moment passed, The Shinning Stars became very talkative with one another. They had their own opinion and were wondering how to approach Twinkle Starr to make inquires about her inability to shine. They felt something terrible must have gone wrong when went away for a couple of weeks for this to have happened. The Shinning Stars were concerned and wanted to help if they could. They couldn’t believe one of the brightest stars of them all was struggling to cast off even a beam of light. What were they all to do?
Twinkle Starr silently looked around and noticed that she was beginning to emit a bit more light. She was beginning to get some of her glow back. Twinkle Starr wondered why, as she cast her eyes about. As the Shinning Stars continued to congregate, Twinkle Starr’s light continued to become brighter and brighter. It suddenly dawned on Twinkle Starr, and at that moment she looked heavenward and smiled. She now knew what her problem was. She had been away from the fellowship of her friends, the Shinning Stars. This had caused her light to grow dim. The absence of their harmony, camaraderie and accord had been missing. There coming together at night to shine was as if it were a corporate worship where they were joined together in unity.
Twinkle Starr was beaming. She was so full of joy and happiness, that it caused her star to shine with a brilliant light all above the universe. The Shinning Stars looked at her with wonder and awe as their own stars began to take on a radiant glow. They looked at one another, smiled and said in unison, she’s back! Their night had become much brighter.

I wish there were pictures to illustrate this! I like this sentence, "Twinkle Starr kept her own counsel and was very quiet." I think this would be a good children's story. You have an excellent message at the end too.
