She reflected on the events of the prior weekend and was again overwhelmed with happiness as she remembered all the faces of friends and family that had come to help them celebrate the marriage of their oldest son. It hardly seemed possible that he was old enough to be the head of his own household. It seemed only yesterday, he had lain in her arms as a precious tiny babe. She cried out a small prayer on his behalf, as she thought of the struggles ahead for him and his wife as they begin their lives together. He had chosen the perfect wife to walk along side him. And she already loved her like her own daughter. Her son was so talented and she knew the Lord was rich in his life. She was confident he would do well, and happiness washed over her anew.
She began to thank the Lord again for the many blessings he had given them. Her thoughts turned to her sleeping husband. Who, over the years, had so willingly provided for her and their 3 beautiful children. They were so richly blessed, and tears of joy began to flow down her face, as she thanked the Lord for giving her such a godly man. He truly had been her soul mate. God had been so faithful to them and had met their every need. They could not be happier!
Realizing her family would be up soon, she quickly dried her tears. Smiling she stood, and reached up onto the shelf, feeling for the stone crusher that she used every morning. She poured the grain into the hollow stone and began to pound it into meal as she began softly singing in her tribal tongue, “Lord you are good!”
