The two people I could rely on in my life where my parents. I had confidence in their love for me. I was confident that each day after school my mother would be home to welcome my sisters and me. I was confident that she would always make a delicious meal for us, whether it was breakfast, lunch or supper. I was confident that she and my father would provide us with a warm and safe home. I was confident in these and in so many of their thoughtful, loving and caring ways.
However, when they passed away over fifteen years ago, my life was empty - but only for a brief period. You see, my parents had instilled in their children confidence and faith in God. It was my faith that carried me through the dark days of their dying. It was my confidence in God that He loved my mother and father and desired them to be with Him forever. It was my faith in God and my love for Him that helped me to grow stronger in my beliefs.
Today, I cherish my faith. Through the love of family and friends, it has increased to a level I never dreamed possible. Due to my confidence and faith in God, I pray that my family members and friends will find Him one day. May their confidence grow. May their faith flourish. May their love for God never cease.
