A sudden noise, Crash! Boom!
I awake with a start!
Jumping out of bed,
my eyelids slide apart.
I open up my curtains to see in the
the strange night's glow,
lawn chairs and debris thrown
about by the wind's flow.
My body is taken by such
a fright,as I see the eerie green-gray
darkness split by lightning's
light.
I tell myself, "There is no reason
to be scared."
But even then I can feel the
prince of the air's stare.
But then the Holy Spirit
comes to my spirit and says
"Be serene, remember the boat-men
with the Nazarene."
I smile gently as
the storm rages until,
I come forth clearly
saying, "In the Name of Jesus,
peace, be still.".
