But can I forget days long before?
Past joys and pains
Left their mark in my core.
Today is a new day.
But my soul is restless indeed.
I’ve looked far and wide,
I can’t find what I need.
Today is a new day.
This is the day I must choose.
Will I stay the same?
I can but there’s too much to lose.
Today is a new day.
I will try something new.
I will give it all to Jesus;
He may know what to do.
Today is a new day.
The past, no longer good for me.
Once a slave to myself,
Jesus Christ has set me free.
Today is a new day.
I have a smile on my face.
Christ gave me new life,
I found joy in God’s grace.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
