asks the pretty woman to dance.
He slips his arm around her small waist
and so begins their dance of chance.
They make a home, bring up their children,
and hold hands on the front porch swing.
They stand beside each other in life
as they share laughter and loving.
It all ends too soon when the man dies
just as a brand new spring appears.
How does the woman go on alone?
Now her world is lonely and fears.
A year of sadness but she prevails.
It is spring again and time to heal.
While still remembering all she has lost,
she seeks a future as she kneels.
She prays for guidance, purpose, and love.
She tells God her secret needs and hopes.
God says her loved one is safe with Him
so she must keep faith, live, and cope.
One day her children urge her to go
to a local charity ball. By chance
a handsome man with gentle gray eyes
asks the pretty woman to dance.
