Flooding down around at my feet,
When with your eyes as you scanned the crowd.
Seeking mine.
How much I have longed for this moment,
How I have hoped for your voice,
Lover of my soul I cannot speak,
Even though my heart longs for you.
For I know my voice screamed ‘Crucify!’,
and I know it was my hands that nailed,
I know my heart was one that failed,
And my voice that denied.
I hang my head in shame,
The tears that fall again,
You call me beloved and lift my head,
And the rain falls down.
Rain falls washing away my pain,
Pure white, now without stain,
You chose to come and sacrifice,
Your death, was my life.
Greatest love story ever known,
That I might find my way home,
Lover of my soul, King of my life,
That I might hear you call my name.
