Topic: Shopping (03/01/07)
I write lists. I like a blank sheet of paper to which I write items of necessity. List for groceries, lists for hardware, to do list, not to do list, yard work list, housework list and a list of my lists.

I confess, I have a list I haven’t written down. This list I know by heart and I don’t want to see it on paper. Until now. Fear, doubt, lack, unbelief, shame, embarrassment, guilt, verbal abuse, regret, unforgiveness, self-hatred, bitterness, resentment, fear and guilt. I must have picked up a few in bulk.

These items I have picked up at different “stores” over the years of my life. Even when I may be low or running out of any item on my list the “enemy store” seems to deliver. All of the items can be re-filled, re-stocked or re-refueled at a moment of a past memory.

I didn’t want to acknowledge this list and I didn’t want to see it written for viewing. My eyes or anyone else’s eyes to see.

Now, this list has seen the light. Majestically I see the hand of Jesus, shredding my list into oblivion. I see Jesus writing His list.

A list He writes on a blank sheet of paper every new morning.

Loved, loving, lovely, grace-filled, merciful, patient, kind, delightful, joy-filled, peaceful, fearless, forgiven, healed, mine, confident, wise.

He is still writing but I cannot see through the blurred vision of tears overflowing. All I need for today is written, and supplied just as needed. Tomorrow is a new day with a new list.

I now no longer carry around bags of stuff from the enemy store. I choose to go to my knees and ask my Father at His storehouse. With open hands, windows and doors, He fills me constantly with His blessings. I am overflowing with blessings with open heart, hands and love to give and share my list to those He places in my daily walk.

My Father, I say, you are truly amazing. Funny, He says, I was just thinking the same thing. My daughter, is truly amazing.

With pen in His hand, I see Him write, amazing is added to my list.

What a good thought. I can't believe all of these thoughts I'm reading in the first level came from the single word "shopping", but they are really good examples. Thanks for sharing.

What a neat concept and image! I loved where Jesus shreds the enemy store list and writes His own. I think 'loved' and 'Mine' were my favorite items on that list. Good job!

What a great perspective! I like this take on the topic and especially like the end with adding 'amazing' to the list, would the would "You" be missing somewhere in the line where He says "My daughter is amazing"? I think it might make it a little more personal, but just my own opinion there! ^_^ Great job!
