Nothing adds joy to a household like something scrumptious to eat. Every growling stomach really appreciates the preparations of the one who does the cooking in the house; especially at the time of immense appetites, like no other time.
Cooking is not considered one of the greatest of gifts until the cook no longer has anything prepared for the meals of the day. This is when the family realizes how important the cook is.
How often do we forget to tell the chef how very much they are appreciated? Are we eager to help with the preparations or to clean up after we have stuffed ourselves silly?
Do we even take the time to say “thank you” or to give a simple compliment?
That must be the way our heavenly Father feels toward His ungrateful children at times. We are all ready to taste the savory blessings He prepares for us, but are we grateful enough to give Him the thanks and adoration due Him? Sometimes we are unable to even bow our head to give Him thanks for the provisions of a meal, which we perhaps all too often take for granted; as we often expect the cook of the household to fix our meals with no attachments of praise or appreciation.
We are disappointed when the cook does not have food prepared for us. How much more grieved is God when He has given us a tremendous supply of salvation, regeneration, forgiveness, justification, and sanctification- to mention a few of the most important staples of life? While we enjoy the snacks between meals, we are given much more than the basic preparations for eternal life. How about the simple goods He provides for family, food, love, good health, freedom, and peace we enjoy? These only scratch the surface of His great love and passion for His children.
The beautiful expectation is the cook’s preparation of love that goes into the skill of cooking the food that the family will enjoy. The same way God pours out His love in such an awesome way to those who know Him as Father God. His love goes on and on. Nothing can separate us from His unfathomable love for us as He feeds us on the Bread of Life.
He gives us a simple recipe for living that makes a glorious meal. Are we willing to partake of it, just as we enjoy the cook’s tremendous physical food? He patiently waits for us to come to His table for our daily bread.

Unending FAITH
Heaps of LOVE
Tons of JOY AND LAUGHTER
Mounds of HOPE
Abundant servings of PEACE
Encircle all with TRINITY
Generous amounts of the FRUIT OF SPIRIT (adds terrific flavor)
Masses of PRAYER
Mix thoroughly all ingredients; while constantly tossing with prayer. Lasting zest will be present if consumed continually. To add everlasting taste, sprinkle with encouragement to others, devour scripture, and praise the Provider. If taste is not perfect be sure and cast away any resentment, bitterness, anger, and unforgiveness, and all sin that restricts the everlasting flavor. Do not forget to give thanks to the source.
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what He hath prepared for him that waiteth for Him. Isa. 64: 4 KJV
