I loved being a parent except…
I’ll try that again. I loved being a parent when…

Hmmm, perhaps another word would be better. I thought parenting was wonderful, but then…

Oh, here it is. Parenting was exciting. However, that word doesn’t come close to describing my life when my daughter’s went through puberty.

How about this? I liked being a parent, period! Yes, that’s the right phrase, but…

Let’s see. Challenge and adventure have to be added in too because… Well, those stories are just too personal to put on paper.

Then, there was the time that…
Mercy, I can’t tell that parent story! My girls would have my hide and then some. Stop shaking your head, they would.

All right, I’ll go with lovely…
No, that’s too bland.

Honestly, parenting was…exhilarating?

On the black canvas of night the stars twinkled in their courses…Just kidding!

Parenting is like rocky road ice cream. Well, it has merit, but I think that’s a writing sin.

Lord, why can’t I find the right words to describe my parenting experience?
Really! Are you sure? Okay, now I get it. Sorry to be so long in figuring it out.

My children,
Parenting was loving you when you were unlovable. Parenting was wonderful from the time I first formed you. Parenting was exciting when you achieved your successes. Parenting was liking you for who you were made to be. Parenting was a challenge when you decided you knew everything at age 14. Parenting was an adventure from the moment you were born. Parenting was exhilarating when you chose to honor our name. Parenting was lovely when you spent time with me in your day. Parenting was exhilarating when you loved and forgave unconditionally.

Parenting was guiding you to follow the stars of light and not the black of night. Parenting resembled rocky road ice cream when I could bestow abundant blessings upon you. Parenting was a rocky road at times, but I walked with you or carried you through the potholes.

I wrote a best seller about parenting. It’s about my son. I’m proud of him. He encourages you to mark up the book or earmark the pages, but most of all keep it around. It’s a good read.

Hmmm…that should sum it up nicely.

This is really, really good. I loved the writing style, loved the humour, loved the message - nothing I didn't love, in fact. Shouldn't be in beginners. I hope this does well.

My mouth literally dropped open when I saw the last word.
I had to go back and read it again from that perspective. One (very minor) unneeded apostophre.
