She was swimming in a raging sea,
In waters, oh, so black.
Her body, it was weakening,
But the current would not slack.

Without relief, she swam and swam,
Pain gripped all her limbs.
Yet she could find no land,
Did the waters have an end?

Never in her life before
Had she been so plagued by doubt.
Her body screamed no more…
For her strength, was almost out.

No longer could she stay afloat.
No longer could she swim.
Suddenly she’d lost all hope.
She knew this was the end.

Her body slipped beneath the sea,
She could fight no more.
Her spirit was too weak.
Her body was too sore.

Over was the poor girl’s life,
Or that was how it seemed.
For she lacked the power and the might
To defeat an angry sea.

But what her eyes failed to reveal
Was the Lifeguard standing by,
Who came and intervened,
When she seemed doomed to die.

From where He came no one knows,
He seemed to just appear…
When she needed Him the most,
To save her life so dear.

And when He grabbed her hand,
He raised her to her feet.
The two walked as on land,
Atop the waters of the sea.

Her life was saved that day
By the Lifeguard in the sea.
To her, the memory never fades…
Though it all seems like a dream.
