Stripped of his raiment, wounded and half dead. I saw this person sitting on the pew next to me in church last week. Lois is saved, but she’s been going through a divorce. Her husband was beating her, and now she’s hurting, alone, lost and spiritually lukewarm (half dead). I was going to stop and talk with her, but I had so much to do that day. I needed to get home, finish my shopping, cook dinner and get ready to go back to work on Monday. I thought of calling her later that evening, but I was studying the Word. God will send someone to help her. I am just thankful to God that I am not in her shoes. THANK YOU JESUS!
“And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.” (v.31)
Stripped of his raiment, wounded and half dead. I saw this person at work yesterday. Bob was moping around the office, telling us how empty he was feeling since his child was killed last month. He was confused and alone. When his wife died last year from a drug overdose, Bob was finally able to give his son a loving, stable home environment. But when his son left for school on that Monday morning last month, and was hit by the speeding car, it was all over. Now Bob is alone, and he doesn’t know God. I was going to talk with him during lunch, but I had taken my Bible to work with me so I could study for the workshop my Pastor asked me to do on Saturday. I know God will send someone to minister to Bob. I am thankful to God that my children are safe, healthy and alive. THANK YOU JESUS!
“And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.” (v.32)
Stripped of his raiment, wounded and half dead. I saw this person this morning, standing on the corner in dirty tattered clothing. She looks like she’s hungry and obviously alone. I see tears on her face as I sit waiting for the red light to change. “I hope someone comes and helps her today,” I thought, “because it sure is cold out here.” Oh good the light finally changed so I can get to the store, before the crowd gets there. As I drive past her I thank God that I am not on that corner without food, clean clothes or a coat. THANK YOU JESUS!
On my way back from the store I see the man that lives next door to me. He has stopped to help the woman on the corner. Thank you God! I knew the good Lord would send someone to help her. Oh my goodness! Is he giving her the coat off his back? He’s not even a Christian. I can’t believe it; he’s putting her in his new car, and she’s so dirty!
Wow, I guess God can use anybody, but you would think He would have sent a Christian so they could pray for her. Oh well, at least I didn’t have to put her in my new car. THANK YOU JESUS!
“But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound his wounds…and took care of him.” (v.34)
Well, I am thankful that I didn’t allow the enemy to distract me with everyone else’s problems this week.
Now I am fully prepared for that workshop on Saturday, ‘THE CHURCH; GOD’S MISSIONARIES,’ that Pastor asked me to do on Saturday. It is going to be awesome.
My part of the workshop is to remind the ‘Church’ how we are all missionaries and we need to reach out and help others. I can’t wait!
I know God will help them to get it! THANK YOU JESUS!
