I would just like to say
How chipper you are looking today
With a wave and a smile you are on your way
What thought of me do you give today
One who is walking a path chosen by so few?
Do you choose it?
I wonder
As you encourage mums to go out and work
Causing them their responsibilities to shirk
Is that the thing to teach?
To teach a generation
Go an’ earn some money
You’ll be so happy
Helping the British economy
Why is it a need?
Does your wife need to go out to work?
Surely being the prime ministers wife
She can afford a more easy life?
Cutting back doesn’t have to be so hard
Maybe doing without the flat, the expensive house
You wouldn’t be living like a poor church mouse!
And who knows
In years to come
You might even get someone, coming up to you to say
Thank you for coming today
Thank you for showing me what a mum could be
Doing without things we really don’t need
And looking above material greed
If you hadn’t changed when God told you that day
Well I would have been called the latch key kid today
