T0PIC POLICE

TITLE PROTECTION DURING DAY AND NIGHT


Late one evening we kept going in circles to locate a friend’s house. It was before we had cell phones or computer generated road maps. The small town had very few road signs and hardly anyone outside on their lawns. The shopping center was empty and closed for the night. We were getting rather tired and very impatient but decided to make one more effort before returning home.

We prayed to the Good Lord to help us as our mission was important. Half way round the block we were overjoyed to see a Police Officer’s car approaching. We waved to him and shared our concern. The uniformed officer not only gave us the directions but offered to drive ahead and escort us there. He waved and left having done another good deed for the day. We expect the police to be kind, helpful and friendly but when they go the second mile they are highly commendable.

Parents sometimes threaten their naughty children by saying, ”We will call the police.” These false threats and the violence they watch on the TV cause youngsters to fear the police. Children need to be taught the right values and respect the police who are out to prevent crime and protect us. The policemen/women are trained to help in time of emergencies too. The other day we heard on the News Channel, about a woman in labor stranded on the highway, crying for help. A police officer on duty was her guardian angel and gynecologist. She named her newborn Robert after the man who had gone beyond the call of duty to save her and her son.

The writer of the Book of Psalms makes numerous references to the Lord being his keeper, who protected him night and day. David faced wild animals and killed them single handed, giant Goliath challenged the Israelites and it was David who leveled him to the ground, and later the Philistine armies were conquered. David gave praises to the Lord who helped him at every step of the way. While running away from Saul he escaped death several times. David had experienced God’s help in time of need. In Psalms chapter 121, we read that God’s protection is available to all those that call upon His name, not just for time but eternity. Let us thank the Lord for His protection and safe keeping.

Irregardless of whether or not you win the challenge,I had to tell you how much your article meant to me.I work by myself on the graveyard shift.It is so easy to forget God's faithfulness.Tonite I wrote in my journal during my devotions that I was afraid and didn't want to go to work tonite.THEN---God led me to your article,of all the wons :-) I could have read.God's reward is the best reward--keep writing for eternal results you shall surely have them
