My wife and I have been married for a little over fifteen years; we have two beautiful little girls who bring such joy into my life. My church doesn't even know that are marriage is in trouble nor does the pastor. My wife and I are in ministry, the funny thing about that is we do the marriage ministry.
I feel that we are living a lie. To the outside world we look like the perfect family but within the house it's a war zone.
At this point I don't know where to go or who to talk too. Leaders aren't suppose to have problem, especially in the ministry they are in charge of. I can't talk to the pastor for he may ask us to step down.
I prayed to God for answers and it didn't seem like He was listening. I beg and fasted for Him to change my wife. She was the problem and she never listen to anything I say to her.
God answer and said,"I have heard your prayers but never did you ask me to change you. You and your wife are one flesh, I can fix half of the problem but then you will be unequally yoke. From the beginning I esablish marriage as a good thing. You two have work to do, and it began with each of you taking responability for your own action first. I did not bring the two of you together just to watch it fall apart. While you are fasting for Me to change your wife; agree with her in a fast so that I can esablish a new level in your marriage."
Tears ran down my face as I humble myself to the Lord. I was so broken at this point that I realized that only God could work on me and through me to bring joy back into our marriage.
It's three month later, and God did just what He said. My wife and I are happier than ever, it wasn't easier and it take hard work but it such a blessing to see where we once were and where we are today. We did step down from leading the marriage ministry as God had lead us to do. We thank God for bringing a revival in our marriage.
Many times when Christian are married, it's easier to give up than to work on the problem. We sometimes forget that anything that worth having is worth working on. It may seem impossible to you, but to God nothing is impossible. If your marriage is in trouble, I'll ask you never give up but work through this little storm that came up in your life.
