The first reference is Genesis two verse two: “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.” He accomplished the greatest work—creating the world.
Work is not just force times distance. It also refers to works mentioned above and so much more. Paul says in Ephesians chapter 2:8-10:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Ah well. We must still work for our savior. Right? True. And we should serve him the very best way that we know how. What will it be for you? What sort of work will you do for the Lord? Will it be good work, cunning work, evil work, work that is productive for yourself and for others and especially for God? Let’s hope that your work is for God.
