There many times and reasons to walk. We walk to exercise, we walk to clear our heads, we walk to get from one place to another and we walk with God. The most important walk we have is with God, the Father. It is a walk that will sometimes get rough. At that point, we might stop walking with God and start walking with the enemy. This is another type of walk. It is a dangerous and lonely one. This walk is filled with anger, despair, fear, unrest and evil. When we choose this walk we turn our backs on the one true God. We lose our perspective on life and love. We lose relationships with our loved ones. Our lives spin out of control. We try to do things our own way and discover that our way doesn’t work. When we were right with God and walking in his perfect light, we could rely on him to direct and guide us. Without him, our way becomes perverted and dark. While walking this path, we encounter many obstacles and oppositions. For some individuals it may take years to realize that this path is the wrong one, for others it may only take a short time. Once we realize that the enemy’s path is the wrong one, we should turn back to our Heavenly Father. He welcomes us back with all the love, mercy and compassion we could ever imagine. Hopefully, after we return to the Father, we can say that we have learned some difficult lessons. As we share these hard learned lessons with others, they become a powerful testimony of God’s love for us. For those who do not return to the Father with us, we must continue to try and reach them with the love of God. Prayer is a powerful weapon that we are to use with confidence and without regret.
After I wake from my afternoon nap, I ponder my dream over a glass of juice. The Holy Spirit speaks to us in many ways. He has spoken to me through my dreams before and I always love to hear what he has to say to me. Is it a message for me? It is a word that I need to pass to someone else? When the time comes for me speak this word to whomever needs it, the Spirit will let me know. Hearing from the Holy Spirit can only help us.
