I was born into a very poor family and never had the riches of this world. I worked, drank a lot and did everything wrong in my life until one day when I started to know God in my life. It has not been an easy road but through it all God has blessed me much more than I could ever say. Oh I know, you might say you have heard the same thing over and over but until you experience it then you will never know. I would like to share with everyone who will listen, my story.
Before I became a Christian, I did every thing my way and no one else’s. As a matter of fact I wanted nothing to do with God or anyone connected to him. To me I had my reasons for this and not a single soul could tell me any different. To give you a little background, I had been raised in an abusive family; my mother hated me for one reason or another. My father sexually abused me and when I was old enough to get out on my own, I did just that.
Not knowing about love, I did everything under the sun to gain it but it was not to be for the most part of my life. To me ‘Sex’ was love and believe me I looked at it that way. I never cared whether a woman was married or not; as long as I got what I wanted. As I mentioned, I worked but the thing is the moment I got out of work I headed straight to a bar. I never saved for anything or wanted to. The only thing on my mind happened to be drinking and women.
After living my life this way for many, many years I ended up broke and down in the pits. Then one day someone came to my rescue, they took me in fed me and showed me what love really meant. That person happened to be a ‘Christian’ and believe me that in itself began a change in me that I can not explain. Has it been easy? No, I had many ups and downs over the years since then but God has always reached out for me and it was up to me to extend my arms and grab onto him. Through that Christian I found the ‘Love of God’ and there is no better love in this world.
Today I have the abundance of Love, God and the Holy Spirit. I may not have great wealth here on earth but with an abundance of Love I am the richest man on earth. I have also found a great love in my wife Diane who is also a wonderful gift from God. I have found many friends and with God and friendship, ‘What else is there?’
So you see my friends, ‘Abundance’ does not come from how much worldly treasures you have here on earth but rather how much Love and friendship through God you have.

One thing you will want to work on, which is something we all struggle with in the beginning, is flow of thought. Or, you could call it organization, or order, if you like. It simply has to do with deciding where in the story would be the strongest place to begin, and exactly how you want to end, for maximum impact. Then, construct your story so that one paragraph leads to another, in an easy, logical sequence, building gradually to the main thrust at the end.
