To help with those who've pleaded,
To sacrifice the last you have
For the sake of those who've needed.
To consider yourself as others
Not to hold your head too high.
To realize we're all his people
And those around us shouldn't cry.
We have no right to see ourselves
As better than all the rest.
We live on this world together,
No one has the claim on "the best".
When we see someone who's out of place
And their comfort zone is low,
We should offer them our friendship
Treat them as someone we know.
For we all will stand in judgement
On that great and glorious day.
No one will win his favor
By anything we do or say.
Our lives will be looked over
How we've lived will be in view
And even though we're saved,
he'll see all we did and didn't do.
I can't wait to see his face
To know that heaven is home.
No one will ever be cold again
The homeless will no longer roam.
The families without much money
It won't matter any more.
It won't take a dollar bill
To pay for what's in store.
The kids who weren't the "in" crowd
Will no longer feel left out.
For God will hold them close at hand
That's what love is all about.
For when it comes to the love of God
Favoritism is long discarded
Only that you love and believe in him
Is all that is regarded.
