The ten brides all headed to the
Chambers of the Groom!
How excited they must be their joy,
Overflowing for more room.
Laughing and giggling so excited
Are they!
Finally the time arrives, this is the
Blessed day.
Finally they are called into the
Holy lit room!
At last they will meet face to face,
Their beloved groom!
Something is not quite right, I see only
Five candles lit!
What happened to the other five?
Not ready or made fit?
Finally the door opens, the Master
Welcomes only five
Their oil lamps trimmed and hearts,
Made alive.
The others He said to they,” I am so
Sorry I must turn you away.”
You did not prepare to meet me,
You knew this was the day.
You thought that you did not need my,
Oil your lamps were dry.
And now you are turned away, no use
To weep and cry!
Five kept their lamps trimmed they,
Were ready too.
Now into the chambers of His Home,
They are the blessed few.
Now the door is shut! Too late to enter,
He had to turn them away.
No time to buy more oil, they knew this
Was the day!
The bride must be ready time is running
Fast.
Don’t be caught without your oil this day,
May be your last.
