The race is never won if we just
give up and quit,
Or if we just say, "I am too tired" and we just sit.
The prize is never given until the race is done,
No one that does not finish the
race has ever won.
The Prize is not given before
the race or somewhere in the un-finished goal,
It takes a pressing on with trial,
and willingness with pain, sweat and toil.
The Prize must be the focus for
we receive it at the end,
After we have ran up every
mountain, and around some troubled
bend.
The runner keeps his eyes focused to the finished Prize,
It makes all the sufferings fade
as he see's the promise at the
end,
With willingness to keep on no
matter what life may send.
He remembers the encouraging
words of his coach that helped
him at the start,
And we know that Our Lord is our
coach as we remember the Promises
from His love filled heart,
We will receive the Prize at the end of life's race,
When the race is won and we see Him face to face.
