Is fulfillment going on vacation to a secluded island with white sand beaches and aqua blue water? Maybe fulfillment is found driving the car of your dreams with all the bells and whistles? If that’s not it, is it making tons of money at the profession of your choice?
What about the Apostle Paul? At the end of his life he was able to say, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2Tim.4:7 KJV). Did the Apostle Paul have fulfillment? What about the Lord Jesus Christ? While he was on the cross, he uttered, “It is finished” (Jhn 19:30). Did Jesus Have fulfillment?
True fulfillment can only be found doing God’s will. After a time of persecuting Christians, Paul didn’t find true fulfillment until he became a Christians himself and was used by God greatly. Jesus found fulfillment in sacrificing his life for our sins that we may approach the Father freely. True fulfillment is available to us as we seek God’s face and ask him humbly what he would have us do.
