I pondered the immensity of time that it took for that light to shine down on my cozy nest of blankets. I wondered if He who created them looked down from everlasting and saw me looking back.
Where I live I do not have the glare of artificial lights to dim the brightness of the stars, and on some cold clear nights their brilliance awes me and reminds me of the mightiness of my God.
He knows I am stirred to loving thoughts about Him when I look up and see His handiwork. Maybe it stirs Him also.
Mankind has always looked out at the great expanse of space searching for some higher being, something that makes sense of our world.
Could it be that the lights that shine on us from the distant past are a testimony to Him who is Light of the world? Their diamond brilliance meant to pierce our souls with love for Him, their creator.
