Topic: Space (01/23/06)
Everyone needs a little space sometimes. But does weeks, months and years qualify as 'good space' or does that signify abandonment?

As the old saying goes "you cannot pick your family" really speaks volumes to those needing space. Do you have any relatives that you could use a vacation from? Are there some that if for the fact that they were not blood relatives, you wouldn't have anything to do with them? Ever feel like you just needed some space between you and your spouse? Your kids? Your parents?

If you've never thought out any of those scenarios, then my friend, you are truly blessed. There are times when I wonder why relatives and siblings especially, can be so selfish, down right mean and uncaring, and hard-hearted towards one another.

I think it has to do with space. That empty space in their hearts. When looking at the world through the eyes of an empty heart, what comes out is sometimes cruel. Sometimes on purpose, sometimes unconsciously.

When the space Jesus made in our human spirit for His Holy Spirit to reside is empty, it is cold towards those whose spirits are filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit.

I know that those people whose space is empty, are truly hearting on the inside. They are acting and reacting the only way they know how... void of love.

Space is important, even vital to our existence.

However, sometimes physical space and time apart are needed to heal from the hearts and disappointment of others.

But space and time apart from The Creator, only makes the void (space) wider, emptier and colder.

Never depart from God, who can heal all hurt and fill that empty space with His Love and Precious Holy Spirit.

I think you might kmow a relative or two of mine! You have written a lot of wisdom in this short piece. How easy it is to forget why some people/relatives just don't "get it". Thanks for the gentle reminder for all of us. Well done.

How true it is - nicely said. A little work on grammer: verbs, ie. "…do weeks…" rather than "does", punctuation and spelling, ie. "HURTING on the inside" and you'll have a winner.

This is really a nice thoroughly enjoyable article to read. Ever wonder why we weren't allowed to choose our relatives? LOL Might be God putting us in the right space and time. Nicely done, and pleasure to read, and very true! littlelight
