pulling me deeper into it’s depth.
I tried to swim my way out,
but the current held my breathe.
Then I heard a voice singing;
*“Love lifted me.”
My heart became calm and my lips did sing;
*“Teach me to pray Lord teach me to pray,
this is my heart cry, day unto day.”
The water was calmed and I walked to the edge,
the shore was soft, as the sand held my footing.
And I realized, that to,
escape the bondage of that which holds you,
you must sing out your prayers.
Let Christ hear you in happiness and despair.
But I admit there are times, when my life is good,
that I forget the words of song.
That only when sadness erupts in my heart,
do I remember that from Christ I depart.
So, not only in despair,
that to escape the bonds that hold you,
remember Christ is always there.
The sun will always shine, and the rain shall always fall.
But no matter the bond that holds you,
You can escape through song:
*”Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh what a foretaste of glory divine!”
