Ways of folly
Unknown
Imaginations
Dance the night
Away and alone
Silent melancholy
Stirs her remembrance
Dreams of subways
Barred by men
Of ill-repute
Conscience
Unknown
There is no sound
Though her heart
Screams
Pleads
Disco lights
Glittered shoes
Click Clack
Soothing memories? I think not
Journey at an end
Darkness descending
Offensive stench
Graffiti smudge
There is no other way
She braces herself
Fear rises
Subways
Every fiber of her being
Fight or flight
Darkness descending
Just two minutes
She leaves her body
Her hand holds on to His
Whose feet touch the clouds
Whose home is above
She watches the girl
The abyss
Fear
Unknown
High heeled in splendor
Lights switched off
She runs like the wind
Subways
Gasping for air
Her lungs
Groping, wheezing
Burning
She sees the bars
Blacksmith iron
Hard knuckles
Clenched with silver nails
Tattooed skulls
Toothless grins
Images, faces
Are they real?
There is no way out
No exit
Frozen
Paralysed
Subways
Memories of darkness
Fears
Raped by their intrusion
Right or left?
East or West?
The lesser
Of two evils
There were no angels that day
No light
Boxes of concrete
Subways
