The good days is a term we use when talking about the past before death and destruction conquered everything the eye can see. In the good days I was a small town sheriff, and now, now I’m one of the people in charge of our small tribe of survivors. Including me we are 82 survivors living in a small forest that’s barely a couple of miles away from a radioactive zone, or as we call it, a dead zone. With no more factories or farms, resources are drying up as fast as spilled water on a hot summers day.
We have created a structure that allows us to benefit of what’s left of our surroundings. We have three teams of people. The first gathers food and drink, the second builds shelters and everyday tools. The third team is the team I’m in, the leaders. The leaders are a group of individuals in charge of governing our little society. If you looked at what we have and at the circumstances we’re in you can say things are actually going great for us.
As the last couple of days have passed, more tension has formed between the leaders as our living options are decreasing. Each time the first team, the scavengers go out they come back with less and less. This is causing unease amongst our camp. I feel that what is best for us is to migrate to the wetlands south of our position. There are new farming opportunities and water we can collect from the ground. Sam Maxwell, one of the other leaders feel we should travel to the coast and live by the sea. Then there’s Tom Tucker who suggested we head towards the rain forest.
All three of us made valid points for the reasons behind our decisions. I said the wetlands because it’s close and it has a small chance of being hit by radiation. I was against the ocean because there is a high chance the water and shore are contaminated. The rain forest is too big of a gamble to risk. It is too far to travel with our remaining provisions.
A decision we all three agreed on was to leave the future in the hands of the people. The other governing members set out to tell the survivors that we will hold a gathering where everyone can vote on what to do and where they see a future for us. Two hours later and every face is visible from the podium I’m standing on. Next to me stands Sam and Tom. We each had half an hour to present our ideas, plans, opinions and thoughts. Soon after the survivors went into a discussion and the majority voted to travel to the wetlands. I was happy that they voted for my idea, but I was also scared at the same time, for if we travel to the wetlands and there is nothing there then the countless deaths that would follow would be on my hands.
It took as just over two weeks to gather our belongings and everything that would be making the trip with us. All the food and water was preserved better than gold. With everything packed and everyone ready for the journey, we set out to discover a new life for our group of 82.

Something to consider- Double spacing between paragraphs is easier on the eye. You might even consider breaking the larger paragraphs into smaller ones.
The main thing I saw were some words that were spelled correctly but were not the word you had intended.
