She ran with the streams.
She let the water flow over her tiny feet and giggled.
She chased butterflies and flapped her arms trying to keep up.
She knew God.
He was her friend.
He spoke to her in song.
He gave her words to sing.
He gave her Beautiful happy songs.
She would swing on her swing up and down, higher and higher.
She would sing beautiful things to Him.
She was a special girl.
She knew this because He thought so.
That knowledge made her smile even more.
She wanted to be liked by everyone.
She wanted everyone to love Him too.
She found out quickly that the other kids didn't love Him.
The other kids didn't follow His rules.
This hurt her at first.
God was her friend and they didn't do what He said.
They just didn't understand.
Sometimes she wants to be like them.
It would be great to not worry about rules.
She wants them to like her.
She wants everyone to like her.
She doesn't want to hurt God's feelings.
God is kind.
She knows He will forgive her.
She must try to fit in.
He was FORGOTTEN!
She woke up shivering.
She was drenched in sweat.
She REMEMBERED!
The dream reminded her of a time long ago when she was young.
She had a very different life then.
She remembered a time before the pain.
A time before bitterness had taken root.
In the dream she felt loved.
She felt wanted and needed.
She remembered God.
They had loved each other so much.
Surely He had forgotten her by now.
She was broken, forgotten, and alone.
No one wanted her.
She knew He didn't want her either.
She tried to go back to sleep but sleep would not come.
She was at the end of her rope.
The years had been hard.
People were cruel.
The tears started flowing unbeknownst down her face.
She hadn't cried in years.
This was unexpected.
With this flow came a cleansing, a purification of mind.
She wasn't alone!
She could feel Him with her.
It was like she had never forgotten Him.
He was back!
She opened her mouth and poured out songs.
The words came!
He gave them to her.
They were friends again.
He wanted her and she would never be alone again.
It was then she realized He had never left at all.
She had forgotten Him.
He had remembered her.
After all this time He still thought she was a special girl.
That knowledge made her smile even more.
