I had been considering going to Canada for 10 years now, but when I prayed I wasn’t getting a definite go. I had to pay the deposit the next week and then it came I got a strong GO from God, so I paid my deposit and started my preparations. I found a prayer for us
Lord, be our guide and our protector on our journey.
Watch over us.
Protect us from accidents.
Keep us free from harm to body and soul.
Lord, support us with Your grace when we are tired.
Help us be patient in any trouble which may come our way.
Keep us always mindful of Your presence and love. Amen

We prayed that prayer every day. I tried to do a bible reading on my Microsoft tablet, and some mornings I succeeded and others there was no WiFi
Our day of travel came, and we were expectantly excited. 15 hours on the plane, but we had arrived at our destination.
Vancouver reminded us of Brisbane friendly helpful people. We found the food we wanted at a Drug store, a bit of a surprise. Next day we saw some of the sites. I loved the totems.
We travelled to Victoria, one of the most amazing places we visited. We went to the beautiful Butchart gardens definitely God’s handiwork. We went on a bus that goes on the water too, and went on a Horse and Buggy ride – all in one day, I am not one to be able to go flat out all day, but God was looking after me that day.
Other highlights were a trip on a helicopter over the Rocky Mountains. I just couldn’t get over the beauty of God’s landscape. One lady told me about the widow about ankle height which you could open and put your camera out. I nervously did so saying a quick prayer that I wouldn’t drop my camera. The photos are amazing.
Our next adventure was a trip down the Alabaster River on, wait for it, a raft. I had not been keen but my friend said “why are we here – to expand our boundaries”, so I went. First problem, there were no seats. We had to sit on the edge, and hold onto a rope. Off we went. We had one oarsman who declared that he’d never lost anyone yet. He kept guiding the raft into the rapids, and we all roared with laughter, when we all ended up with wet bottoms. The tour company were well prepared, and we were given a towel each to sit on.
Next day we went to the glaciers and all I could do was sing “How Great thou art”. Over and over. I just couldn’t believe the majesty of the ice.
Then came Niagara Falls. Now this is just the most amazing thing I have ever seen. This is God’s work at its best. We went on a boat at the base of the falls and I looked at my friend and said ”you can’t take a photo of this it is just too amazing”. We bought postcards.
We had our trip of a lifetime, and we had God there with us all the way, otherwise how would I have gotten into a helicopter and on a raft.
