Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Day and Night (07/10/14)
In Genesis Chapter 1: 4-5, God separated the day and night. In His infinite
wisdom He decided we should realize the difference. In our lives there is a
distinct difference. I believe these can be categorized to be the good and the bad
times. Let’s say perhaps you’re having a particularly bad day. It seems like every
thing is going the opposite direction that you intended. What is your first
instinct? Take a deep breath, count to ten, jog in place or say a prayer. Prayer
seems to work because you are taking the time to actually say to The Heavenly
Father exactly the problems you are experiencing. This is your Father you are
dealing with and He knows better than you what you need (Matthew 6:8 ) (KJV).
It is always best that you petition your requests. God has three responses to your
prayer. They are yes, no, and later. When you have a peaceful calm come over
you . You find it hard to remember exactly why you were so frustrated. The Holy
Spirit is telling you that whatever the problem that is causing you misery will
dissipate. You should always remember to take all your requests to God.
Sometimes God will give you an answer of “no” or “later”. This simply means
that what you ask for is something you don’t need at this time or something that
with patience you will receive. Let us be diligent to always thank God when we
are having a particularly great day also.

This would make a nice devotional. Make it a little more easy on the eye by breaking up into several paragraphs. Good job:)

This piece has a good start, and it is filled with good ideas for a devotional. Breaking it into paragraphs would not only be easier on the eye, but would also help the focus.

You have given us some good reminders about prayer.

One interesting prayer Jesus prayed (maybe his last prayer) he asked for this cup to be taken from him but not my will but yours. God's answer to this prayer was a "Yes". God answered Jesus's prayer with a yes but it was not really what Jesus wanted.

Keep your eyes in his word.

This is a nice piece. I liked how you gave a modern example to showcase the Bible verses you selected. You make some great points.

You might want to consider using examples from your life instead of the universal you. For example:I've experienced good and bad times, and I've learned that praying makes the dark days easier while praising God for those splendid experiences makes me remember them more.

Just by doing something as little as that can pull the reader in and help her relate to your words. You have an encouraging and understanding way about you. It shines through the screen and warms my heart.
