“Yes, we do.” chirped the love birds.
Wide smiles, white lace, shining eyes filled with hope
spelled the end of aloneness, so now they are one.
In a beautiful home and rooms filled with love,
Memories are made and the future springs on.
Like a fragrant garden, fed with water and sun,
so their loving home thrived in the light of the Son.
In a year maybe more there’s sound of small feet.
So still full of promise and hope in the Lord
to nurture the bonds; they rear up their young
and celebrate their days.
As sweet time rolls by, the lovebirds chirp on
Some realities loom and soon loses are seen.
The love changes shape. It’s stays strong and unwavering.
Now life’s less about lace but more about strength.
Each day they are thankful as they hold hands and pray.
The balancing of bills can wipe some joys away.
They remember their Source as they manage resources,
and give back to the Lord as Paul said to do.
Make plans for the future. Keep making ends meet.
Please, remember the preacher!
Yes, remember that now “Will you take…?”
means “We do, and forever.”
