There is a story told of a 14th century Christian missionary that was taken captive in China by Mongols. The missionary, which was made up of about five individuals, were tortured, mocked and imprisoned for their beliefs. Soon after their arrival they were posed with a challenge; ‘Speak to this mountain and move it, as Jesus said you could or die’. They were taken outside to a mountain that sat across the local village and were given a few minutes a day to move the mountain, for a week. If their task wasn’t completed in a week they would be put to death. The Christian Missionary became the laughing stock as they attempted the seemingly impossible. As the final moments of the final day approached, faith was quickened into their hearts as they spoke to the mountain for the last time and sure enough, it moved!
At some point in life we all come face to face with a mountain that needs to be moved. The mountain can be in the form of a bully at school, poverty, health issues, marital problems or any other kind of problem that we may be facing. They can be overwhelming even for the most elite.
The phrase ‘Straight from the horse’s mouth’ refers to information coming from the source or first hand. The Bible is called the Word of God because it comes ‘Straight from the horses mouth’. The horse being God almighty himself and according to God there is nothing impossible with him, as the story above displays.
The answer to our problems can be found in God’s Word. The light we disperse along with the power of God that flows in and through our lives is directly correlated with our relationship with God. The book of Acts tells a story of the Seven Sons of Sceva. They witnessed the power of God being displayed through the Apostle Paul. So they tried to cast out Demons as Paul was doing, but without a relationship with God. The outcome was not good, the evil spirits jumped on them instead.
It is critical to develop a relationship with God. We do this through various methods, like meditating on his Word, spending time in praise and prayer, being obedient, amongst several other ways. Once we establish a connection with the Almighty, we saturate our heart with his Word. Once his Word is in our hearts, we can release it through our mouth, by speaking it and it will surely move any size mountain in our way and that’s coming ‘Straight from the horse’s mouth’!

I had never heard about that story before. That was interesting. I wonder (if the story was true) if those Mongols then listened to the missionaries. If they would have believed that Jesus was both Lord and Christ, repented of their sin and were baptized for the forgiveness of their sin, they would have been the first Christians in that area. Praise God.
I liked the double spacing between the paragraphs because this makes it easier for me to read.
I loved the segue into your overall story, and the continuous explanations of each verse by examples.
