To a new place he did not know,
Abraham listened and obeyed.
His abiding faith was portrayed.
When out of water is a fish,
To return is its fervent wish.
Maybe Abraham felt that way.
We know the Lord he did obey.
God called Moses from a bush that burned.
He listened and God’s plan he learned.
Maybe Moses felt like a fish.
But pleasing God was his fervent wish.
Moses did not want to leave his sheep,
But God’s direction he did keep.
Because he did not fail the test.
Numberless people thus were blessed.
Joseph was forced form his home, too.
Yet to the Lord was ever true.
After all, his brothers he forgave.
Many people thus God did save.
Sometimes God calls us to a place
We really do not want to face.
Still He always knows what is best
And He will help us pass the test.
He promises to hold our hand
During times we don’t understand.
When called to leave your comfort zone,
Remember, you won’t be alone.
