Topic: Beautiful (11/07/05)
Do something beautiful for God and become beautiful doing it.

It is a tough life. No one said it would be easy. When we were raised our parents didn’t teach us that the world isn’t fair and most of the time we are fighting against good and evil, well at least my parents didn’t. They taught me that if you touch a hot stove, you get burned, if you cross the street look both ways, those things. As I have lived this life I have come to realize that it is ugly. People are ugly, not in the literal sense but in their actions. They lie, cheat, steal, and hate, all the while feeling justified for doing it. Why would God make the world so beautiful and then have us come along and destroy it?

It is up to each and every one of us to turn the tide. To look beyond the ugliness for the beauty. Not only the beauty of the planet and all the earthly things, but for the beauty in others. It is almost impossible to be in a situation where we are wronged and look for the beauty. But, the Lord asks us to do just that.

When we do this, God blesses us. He doesn’t sit upon His throne and look at the ugliness of the world, does He? No, He sees the beauty in even the ugliest of situations. He forgives, loves, cares for and heals all the ugly people and their behavior.

I want to be more like Him and see the beauty through the ugliness all around me.

You are correct-it is hard to see the beauty in others when we are hurt. But, Jesus Christ faced the ultimate ugliness of the world and he responded by loving us all the more and hanging on the cross until his Father's work was completed. If we even showed a tiny portion of that type of beauty in our lives, we could change the world. Thanks for your article:)

people can be ugly, I'm learning that fear causes the ugly behavior; and really what does a world without Christ have but fear. terrible fear. we have faith. which is recieve through LOVE. Perfect love casteth out fear. so when we walk in love it dispells the fear/darkness. thank you for sharing :)

You are very astute in your preceptions of the world and some of the people in it. You are also correct about what Jesus does and asks us to do--see the beauty in every circumstance and don't give in to the ugliness. Thanks for reminding us of that.
