I wonder to myself as I listen where do they get their information. What town or cities are they looking at? Does this mean that people who are making less money or are out of work completely depending on unemployment or family to survive will be tithing less at church. Will everyone who has been downsized at work or simply just watched as their jobs were sent overseas where the labor is cheaper and so is the product gives up on giving back to God what he has afforded them?
I know it is easier just to give in to the loss and cut every corner possible, but do you cut the one source you have that does not depend on money yet he makes it possible for it to be there when you need it.
God sees and knows all, He is there in everything going on in this world. He sees the evil and the good. God is there when the famine and lack of food is swallowing up people and country. He is also there when there is good and I believe he cries right along with us when things hit bottom.
The saying Money is the root of all evil is only scratching the surface of what money really does. If you sit back and think everything in this world has to do with it or is influenced by it. If you have money you can eat and provide for your family. If you are broke you do without and that is the plain and simple truth. Everything from jobs to clothes to farming to nearly everything is dependent on money. I wonder if we would just rely on God for "all of needs" then would we be in the state that this world is in?
I believe in God to supply my needs no matter how hard it gets or how low this world gets me down. I find comfort in this....
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever
