"In three. . .two. . .one. Queue camera. Sri your on." came the voice over the headset.
"Welcome back to our newscast. I'm Sri Anchor." said the man sitting behind the desk of the most popular evening news program. "Many of you may have seen our next guest on your walk to work. You may have even asked 'What is that man building?'. Here to answer that question and hopefully many more is that man, Noah. Welcome to our program. How are you today?."
"I'm doing very well Sri. Thank you for asking."
Sri: "Let's dig right in to what is going on in your back yard. What is that monstrosity you're building?"
Noah: "Well, many of your viewers may be able to tell by its shape that it is a boat of sorts. A large boat called an ark and it is made to carry a tremendous load."
Sri: "An ark. What to you expect to be carrying, how big does it need to be and how much longer will it take?"
Noah: "I've been told to make it large enough to carry two of every living creature on earth. Two aardvarks, two bison all the way to two zebra. To do that, the ark must be 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high. I'm very close to being done. Just need to do a little clean up work, add a few creature features and it'll be ready to go."
Sri: "Okay, let's recap here. You're building an ark to carry two of every living creature, not every human being, and you where told to make the ark the size that you did. Who told you to do this and why?"
Noah: "God came to me in a dream. He said He had a plan to start over with the world. He wanted to rid it of all the sin and the sinners. He was going to bring about a great flood and to protect what He made and those people He chose, He needed an ark."
A bright flash of light was seen outside the third floor window. A short time later a distant rumble was heard.
Sri (with a chuckle in his voice): "So God told you to build this ark?"
Another flash of light, brighter than the first, filled the studio. This time the rumble came sooner and was a bit louder as well.
Sri: "Can someone please find out what that noise is and have it stopped? It is disrupting my concentration. Now Noah, you said God is going to bring about a flood. Where is this flood coming from?"
Noah: "God will make it rain for forty days and forty nights. It will be a rain like we've never seen before. It will cover all the world and not a living creature will be spared. Not a single person will be able to survive."
Sri (almost laughing): "Rain for forty days and nights. God is going to do that to the world and all the people in it. Look Noah we live in a desert with the nearest sea thousands of cubits away. I'm finding your story just a little hard to believe. After all, you've been at it now for well over a hundred years."
The flash that came through the window was blinding and the immediate clap of thunder was deafening.
Sri: "Would somebody please tell me what that light and noise are?!?"
Noah: "The flash you see is called lightning and the roar is thunder. They herald the beginning of the rain, a flooding rain. Sri, I would like to ask you a question. From this interview I've come to realize you're not a man of God. You and probably your entire audience believe they don't need God's help. So, with that in mind, how long can you or anyone watching this broadcast tread water without God's mighty helping hand?"
Noah left the studio with that thought planted in the minds of everyone viewing the program. The traffic was horrible on the road out of town. Animals of all kinds were arriving in pairs causing major snarls and bottlenecks. Noah abandoned his ride and decided to walk home. As he did he wondered and prayed if anyone would get the message of what was about to happen and why.
