Could you, by yourself, form a human from dust, heal the sick, move mountains? If your faith was big enough, you could. How do you develop faith that large? Believe that Jesus died and rose again, Confess your sins, ask Jesus to come in to your heart.
With that done, take the time to read and study God's word, listen to preaching that lines up with God's word. Set under teachers that can explain The Word in a way you understand. Yes, it eats up part of your day. You will never be sorry you took that time. God will reward you in ways you never thought possible. Accepting Jesus as your Savior makes you a new person with a new beginning. The past is erased and forgotten by God. As a Child of God, we have the mind of Christ. Developing the faith to use it is the key.
Our lifetime is just a brief flash in God's Kingdom, Here on earth, it seems to be a long time. If someone dies early, say a child or young adult, we question God's wisdom because we are earthly. We want to keep what we have, those we love and cherish. Wouldn't it be nice if we did what the Bible says, mourn a birth, rejoice at a funeral? We humans sure get that backwards. Why? Why do we rejoice the birth when we know what trials and tribulations they will go through here on this earth? Why do we mourn when a soul is released from the trials of this earthly realm?
We prepare for a baby. We have baby showers to get clothes and supplies we need, decorate rooms, do a test to know the sex so everything is the right colors. We notify everybody, not just relatives and close friends that a baby is coming. Its glorious news for us.
Why can't we share Christ’s coming in the same way? We should have lots of Christ is coming showers, teaching his word to the people we invite. We should decorate ourselves and our houses to show his love. Test ourselves to find out just how much we can do each day to share God's love. The unconditional love of God is glorious news for us. Share it with relatives, close friends, everyone you meet. Pray for the needs of those you'll never meet.
How do we decorate ourselves to show his love? By learning his word, and letting the Holy Spirit work through us. It's not the way we clothe ourselves with earthly clothes; it's the way we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit. He shines through our countenance, our smile, our talk, our walk. He clothes us with peace, happiness, humility, servitude, wisdom, and a Godly mind. Takes time, yes. Let the word of God guide you in all you attempt. You will find as you get closer to him, that worldly things are not important any more. Bringing souls to Christ, gaining eternal life for them, is the most important job you will ever have. Rejoice in it!
