There were times I could not, catch my breath
Where greed and hated was all I found
As did, every evil, there abound
Then there came this soothing voice
Saying, wake up soul, you have a choice
I’ve come to share with you good news
Yes this good news, your fears, subdues
The kingdom of God, has now drawn near
Wake up my child, do not walk in fear
God speaks only truth, He means what He says
He has not changed, from those ancient of days
He spoke to His prophets, they wrote what He said
What the prophets wrote down, became then widespread
They wrote ‘bout my birth, my death, resurrection
I saw my job through, yes I saw its’ completion
You’re make-up you see is spirit, soul and body
Another word for soul, is, inner-man, to speak bluntly
Learn this truth here and now, please take it to heart
Your spirit, goes to God; your flesh, the ground, is his part
The flesh fights with the spirit; they are both after your soul
The inner-man: your mind, will and emotions; this is their goal
I’ve learned, to follow God’s spirit, as it goes soaring high
My soul follows closely, looking, to touch, the heavenly sky
I live now above all that dark gloom of the night
Flying high, on Love and walking in light
Now hear my pleadings as an ambassador of Love
Wake up soul, God is calling, to you, from above
