As I thought about the word ‘touch’ I could not get out of my mind about the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment.
The Faith of this woman was tremendous. Let us think for a moment where Jesus was going. He was going to a Rulers house where the maid was sick.
The woman who had a blood disorder for twelve years saw Jesus walking her way and touched his garment.
This may be conjecture, but I believe she had the faith for those twelve years that she would be healed. She waited and responded by putting her faith into action.
If we have faith, the right opportunity will come to us so we can put our faith into action.
Did Jesus know that the woman was going to be there? I believe He did. He knows all things. Jesus tested her faith. Her faith came alive by her responding, by touching the hem of Jesus garment.
Jesus coming our way to do his work in us is lost because our faith has wavered or we have given up on what the Holy Spirit can do for our lives. He will test our faith in Him.
The Ruler had faith in Jesus for him to come to his house to heal the maid. But he had minstrels and people making a noise in his house when Jesus arrived.
It is so true that we make a lot of noise sometimes to try to make things happen, when all we need is our faith and action of faith in Him.
If the woman with the issue of blood, did not touched the hem of his garment. She would not have been healed. Jesus would have still stopped at the Rulers house for the maid to be healed.
This may seem obvious, but it is reasonable to think that the Holy Spirit wants to work in those who have faith in Him.
The green eyed monster called jealousy appears in our lives sometimes, because we see God working in their lives but not in ours.
It is most obvious that the missing ingredient that may be in our lives is faith and putting it into practice.
We need to be careful that our faith is not foolish.
Presently, in my life at the moment I have a dilemma. My computer will not start if I close it down. It needs to be left on all night or I may not be able to start it again. It seems like a power problem.
This is my dilemma. I could save up for a while and have faith in God that the house won’t burn down. Or, I have faith in God to replace my computer and pray that I will be able to pay it off.
To buy a computer only seems reasonable in my own thinking. After all it would be cheaper than replacing my home. Or I trust the Lord, when I know there is something wrong with the computer and have faith that it does not catch fire.
I guess at some stage in our lives we have all come up with a similar dilemma of where our faith goes.
Faith requires an act. To do nothing is stupidity not faith. So I guess you know what I am going to do.
Ultimately we need to have faith in God as our Spiritual guide. The woman that had the issue of blood, or a blood disorder, acted on her belief of faith. She did not even consider other possibilities what the touching of the garment could have done to her. She touched knowing of one outcome; she would be healed.
We should be willing to touch with our faith knowing that God will do it through His Holy Spirit. After all, this is faith.
“AND THE FAME HEREOF WENT ABROAD INTO ALL THAT LAND.”
I wonder in my own life sometimes is faith showing in my community and church?

Not sure however that Jesus coming to do His work in us is actually lost in our wavering and weakness to step out in faith, but certainly prolongs a lot more blessings :)
BTW- My husband is a computer expert and he insists if you are going to be using your computer the next day it is better for it to remain on provided you have a screen saver and good air circulation so it doesn't get too hot. A laptop might be different, but we leave our desktops on all the time. :)
