Tammy Robinson was thinking, “How glad I am not to be living that life anymore.” Tammy had been married for twenty years. During that time she had made many mistakes; some of those mistakes included blackmail, witchcraft, prostitution, adultery, drugs, and murder. Although she always felt remorseful, she never knew what to do about it accept blame her ex-husband, Tom. She always blamed him because he always made everything such an adventure with a huge pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Most of the time, though, it turned out to be pennies in the bottom of the wishing well. Pennies that took more work to get out than they were worth.
A year after her divorce, Tammy became involved in a church. She felt this emptiness that was absolutely consuming her. She had dated now and then, but that did not fill the void. She tried getting a better job to cover up the emptiness, which did not work either. In her search for something to fill the emptiness, she did pretty well for herself…in an honest fashion. She felt very accomplished, but still empty. It wasn’t until after she had started going to church and began attending a prayer meeting that she accepted Christ as her Savior. Little by little the gap was filled and she felt whole again. She gained wisdom and came into a position in her job where her authority was recognized with great respect. She realized that nothing in the world could have filled her void, but the one who created the world could and did.
Now, however, she was on her way to confront her past. She was going to meet with a lawyer and her ex-husband regarding some property that her ex-husband had obtained while the both of them were still married. The property was some land that was located in a prime location in a small town near where they lived. The town had experienced a boom; and the land was wanted by a huge corporation to build a commercial center and offices. The financial reward was immense and Tammy was entitled to half of it.
Tammy was faced with more than just the fact that she was entitled to a great financial windfall. She was confronted with the fact that she had to face her ex-husband and be subject to his control once again. There was also the option to accept her half of the property and donate it to a charity or the church. However, the money was a direct result of deception and deceit.
Upon arriving at the lawyer’s office, Tom was anxiously waiting with the lawyer to get the transaction under way. Greetings were exchanged, and Tom invited her to lunch afterward. He seemed to be his same old self with his usual greedy grin. Tom was dropping hints and making plans with Tammy without her consult. Only now, Tammy could see through his devious plans. Finally, he made the comment our ship finally sailed in baby.
Just the way that sounded made Tammy sick. She became upset and told Tom, “I have been busy making a life for myself, and I have done very well with the help of my new love. The only reason I came here today was to sign the land over to you Tom. After all, you did work hard deceiving and stealing to get it. I am glad for you. I hope you enjoy your riches.”
Tom asked her in amazement, “Do you realize what you are doing?” and “Who is this new guy?”
She told him, “Don’t be jealous Tom, my new love is Jesus Christ! You should get to
know him too. Anyway, we are already divorced. I am going now to thank my Lord Jesus that I did not get involved in this awful trap of greed. Bon voyage Tom.”

From a technical point of view, just watch out for using the word "accept" for "except."
