Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Wow! (03/11/10)
There are some things that are just amazing:
How God is the Father, Holy Spirit and Son,
How He makes wings to fly and legs to run
How He shows grace and mercy to a sinner like me
And because his son died we can be set free

There are a lot of things we can’t comprehend:
How God creates universes, yet the tiniest bug,
How if we sin His Spirit gives our heart a small tug,
How there are still creatures not yet discovered
And how God pours out forgiveness so that we’re totally covered

There are many things that are really astounding:
How He crafted me so preciously in my mother’s womb,
How after Jesus died he defeated the tomb,
How He created sweet and sour and bitter as well
And our beautiful senses of touch, sight and smell

And so with a collective sigh we say wow!
At all the things God has given us now
And that is why we wish to rejoice.
And search through nature for His whispered voice.

I like the 5-line structure of this poem, and the unique rhyme scheme.

The meter was just a tad bumpy, but all in all this is an excellent poem. Well done!
