OOPS - I SLIPPED AND FELL AGAIN

Oops - I slipped and fell again,
Please forgive me Lord.
There, I did that thing, again
Not according to your Word.

There’s forgiveness in your Word Lord
There’s healing in your wings.
Oops - I slipped and fell again,
Please forgive me Lord.

The things I do
The things I say
Are important to your will and way.
Oops - I slipped and fell again,
Please forgive me Lord.

The race is run
My face is set
You are the goal that must be met.
Oops - I slipped and fell again,
Please forgive me Lord.

According to your Word dear Lord
According to your way.
Each step I take
You go before
To lead me all the day.

When I take my eyes off you
As Peter did and sunk.
Oops - I slipped and fell again,
Please forgive me Lord.

Only as I totally yield
To your will for me.
Can I run this race -
As I keep my eyes on thee.

Then in moments of looking away
I find myself on my knees,
Only to say…..
Oops - I slipped and fell again,
Please forgive me Lord.

Isn't it great that no matter how many times we say, "Opps, I slipped and fell, Lord," he will still be there to forgive? Very good poem.

This is beautifully done! I love the rhyme, rhythm and meter of it and the words flow together. So realistic. and glad that we can go to Him when there is an "oops" moment in our lives. Feels like there could be a tune to this...thanks for sharing!

Your use of the repeated last two lines in each stanza is very effective--this reads like a psalm or a song. Well done.

Thank God He does forgive us for everyone of the oops we make through life. This had such an ease to it like an old country road, winding and gentle. I really liked this alot. I agree with one of the comments about the last two lines of each stanza that made this seem like a beautiful psalm. Well done.:0)
