As I sit in the back seat while you drive, I can’t help but notice those small brown hands.
I watch you drive and remember the day that I delivered you and kissed those small brown hands. It seems like only yesterday that we made mud pies as we played in the dirt. You fell down the slide and I watched as you dusted off your skirt. To my surprise you didn’t even cry, you used to be so super shy. But you grabbed my face with those little brown hands and said to me, “Mom I told you I CAN!”
So gentle is your touch, I love you so very much. I watch as you strive for the best. You work hard to acquire success. You gain wisdom and knowledge along with understanding; it’s what you’ve been taught every Sunday morning.
My heart is overwhelmed at God’s marvelous creation, as you drive, you’re focused and you cannot see the tears rolling down my face as I enjoy what no words could ever express and those small brown hands are passing the test. As you transition from a teenager into a young woman, I stare, I gaze, and I’m so amazed at what you’ve become. Through my watered filled eyes I’m crying, I’m shouting, I am so proud of you.
All of this started because I noticed Those Small Brown Hands.
